It Is Applied Wet
The glass is cleaned, sprayed with a slip solution and the film floated into position. That solution is what allows the film to be moved into alignment before it is squeegeed down and the water driven out.
Height Is Set by Eye Level
A privacy band usually runs from about a metre to a metre and a half from the floor, covering seated and standing sightlines. Above and below stays clear so the room keeps its light.
Cut Outs Carry the Branding
Logos and patterns are cut out of the frosted film so clear glass shows through the shape. That reads more cleanly than a print onto the film, and it never fades.
Safety Marking Is Often Required
Large areas of clear glass in commercial buildings usually need manifestation so people do not walk into them. A frosted band frequently satisfies that and solves the privacy question at once.
Bubbles Are an Application Fault
Small bubbles left under film do not disappear. Working the solution out fully from the centre is the whole skill, which is why we fit this ourselves instead of supplying it loose.
Removable Later
Frosted film comes off with heat and a scraper, leaving clean glass. For leased offices this matters at the end of a tenancy. Measure the glass panes individually. Partition systems look uniform and frequently are not, and film cut to a single dimension across a run of six panes will show a slightly different margin on each one.
Something to plan around: film cannot be applied to dirty, scratched or freshly sealed glass, and it does not sit well over mullions or onto glass with a surface coating. We check the glass before quoting the job.
