The Top Edge Does All the Work
At seated eye level, around a metre and a quarter from the floor, the film blocks a seated person from view and still lets light over the top. Taken to a metre and a half it screens a standing person too, and the room immediately feels smaller. That one measurement is the whole design.
It Diffuses Light Without Losing Much
Frost scatters light instead of stopping it, so a room keeps nearly all of its daylight and loses the view. In a windowless internal meeting room borrowing light from a corridor, that property is the only reason the room is tolerable.
Glass Needs a Manifestation Mark
Full height clear glass doors and partitions need something at eye level so people do not walk into them. A frosted band is the standard answer and it is usually required by the building, so check with facilities before deciding you want bare glass.
It Goes On Wet and Squeezed Out
The glass is cleaned, flooded with slip solution, the film floated into position and then squeezed from the centre outward. Every bit of trapped water has to come out, because a bubble on frost dries as a visible pale ring.
It Comes Off Without Residue
Frosted film peels away in one sheet and leaves clean glass. For a leased office this matters at the end of a tenancy, and it is the reason frost gets specified where sandblasting would be permanent.
Measured and Fitted On Site
We measure every pane on site instead of working from a drawing, because partition glass is rarely the size the drawing says it is.
We should be clear about what privacy means here. Frost removes detail, not presence. A person standing close to the glass is a visible shape and a strong backlight will show a silhouette. For genuine concealment you need an opaque film, not a frosted one.
