Acrylic Letters Signage in Dubai: Built Up From Flat Sheet
A built up acrylic letter is a small box made entirely of acrylic. A face, sides bonded around its edge, and usually an open or closed back. Acrylic letters signage in Dubai is the lightest dimensional lettering we make and the one that handles colour best.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Sides Are Bonded, Not Folded
Acrylic cannot be bent around a corner the way metal can, so each side is cut and solvent bonded to the face. The solvent softens both surfaces and they fuse into one piece as it evaporates.
Joints Have to Be Invisible
A good bond leaves no visible line. A rushed one leaves a faint white seam at every corner, and on a clear or pale letter that is the first thing anyone notices up close. This is where the labour goes.
Colour Is in the Material
Acrylic comes coloured throughout the sheet, so a chipped edge shows the same colour as the face. Painted metal shows the substrate. On a letter that will be touched, this is a real durability advantage.
It Lights Beautifully
The material diffuses light evenly, which is why it is used for the faces of almost every illuminated letter regardless of what the sides are made from. A fully acrylic letter glows at the edges as well as the face.
It Is Very Light
A set of built up acrylic letters weighs a fraction of the same set in metal, which opens up fixings that would not carry anything heavier, including adhesive mounting on glass.
Finished and Polished
Edges are flame or diamond polished where they will be seen, so a clear letter reads as solid glass instead of cut plastic. On a coloured letter the edge is usually left matt, since a polished edge on strong colour throws a bright line that competes with the face.
The limit is heat and sun. Outdoors in full Dubai sun, acrylic expands and contracts noticeably and over several years it yellows. For an external fascia we would use acrylic for the face and metal for the returns, which is the standard construction for exactly this reason.
Compare with acrylic cutout letters, 3D acrylic signage, and acrylic name plates.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
