3D Acrylic Signage in Dubai: Lighting the Face and the Wall Together
Some acrylic letters are lit twice. Light comes through the face and spills out behind onto the wall at the same time, so the character glows and sits in a halo. 3D acrylic signage in Dubai built this way is the most expensive letter we make and the one that photographs best.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Two Light Paths in One Letter
Modules face forward through a translucent acrylic face, and a second set faces backwards through an open or translucent rear. Both run from the same driver but they are balanced separately.
Balance Is the Whole Skill
If the face is much brighter than the halo, the halo disappears and you have paid for a frontlit sign. If the halo dominates, the face looks washed out. Getting the two within a sensible range of each other is what the money buys.
The Return Is Often Clear
Using clear acrylic for the sides lets light escape around the whole letter, which softens the halo into something continuous instead of a ring behind the shape.
Colour Shifts Between the Two
A coloured face throws coloured light forward and often near white light backwards, so the halo rarely matches the face exactly. Most clients like this once they see it, but it should be a decision and not a surprise.
It Is Set Up Before It Ships
We run the sign in the workshop against a white wall and adjust the balance there, because trying to tune it at height on a fascia is slow and imprecise.
Where It Is Worth It
Hotel entrances, restaurant frontages and reception walls, where the sign is a feature of the architecture and not simply a label on a unit. It also suits a double height lobby, where the halo spreading across a tall wall gives the sign a presence that a flat lit panel at the same size never achieves.
The fair warning is cost and complexity. This is two lighting systems in one letter, with more modules, more wiring and more that can eventually need attention. On a straightforward shopfront, frontlit letters do ninety per cent of the job for considerably less.
Compare with frontlit letters, backlit letters, and acrylic letters.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
