Books and NCR Forms in Dubai: Printed, Numbered, Then Bound

Receipt books, invoice books and voucher pads are the one printed product where the numbering matters more than the design. Books and NCR forms in Dubai are bought to create a record, and every step in making them exists to keep that record intact and in order.

Before it reaches you

What happens to your order before it reaches you.

Six steps, from the brief you send us to the moment it is in place.

01

Carbonless Paper Works by Being Crushed

NCR sheets carry microcapsules of dye on the back of one sheet and a reactive clay on the front of the next. Pressing a pen breaks the capsules and the image forms on the sheet below. Nothing is transferred and there is no carbon involved.

02

The Sheets Have to Go in the Right Order

A set runs top sheet, then middles, then bottom, and each one is a different coating. Collated out of sequence, a set either produces no copy at all or copies onto the wrong sheet. Collation is the step that goes wrong on cheap books.

03

Numbering Is Printed, Not Typed

Sequential numbers go on through the press or a numbering machine, matched across every sheet in a set so the original and both copies carry the same number. Tell us the starting number and whether books continue from a previous order.

04

Perforation Decides What Is Kept

A perforation line lets the top sheet tear out while the copy stays bound in the book. Which sheets perforate and which stay fixed is a decision about who keeps what, and it has to be stated before binding.

05

Binding Holds the Stub

Sets are glued at the head with a card cover and a stiff backing board, sometimes with a wraparound flap to slide under the set and stop the pen marking the book below. That flap is the detail people forget to ask for.

06

Checked by Pulling One Set

We write across one set from every finished batch and separate it, because the only real test of a carbonless book is whether the copy came through legibly.

A practical warning. Carbonless paper reacts to pressure of any kind, so a box stacked heavily or a book carried in a tight bag develops grey smudges across the copies. Store these flat, loosely, and out of the sun.
