Neon 3D Signage in Dubai: Glass Tube or Flexible LED
Neon is now two completely different products sharing one name. One is glass tubing bent over a flame and filled with gas. The other is a flexible LED strip in a silicone sleeve that imitates it. Neon 3D signage in Dubai usually means the second, and knowing which you are buying matters.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Real Neon Is Bent by Hand
Glass tube is heated and shaped against a paper pattern by somebody who has done it for years. Each letter is one continuous run of glass with electrodes at the ends. The slight irregularity in a hand bent tube is exactly what people like about it.
LED Neon Is Cut and Routed
Flexible tube is bent cold around a routed acrylic backing that holds the shape. It can be cut at set intervals, it runs at low voltage, and it is far more forgiving to transport and install.
The Light Looks Different Close Up
Glass neon glows along the whole tube with a soft bloom at the ends. LED neon is more even and slightly flatter, with a visible seam on the back face. At two metres most people cannot tell. At arm's length, in a bar, they can.
Backing Boards Change the Effect
Mounted on clear acrylic the tube appears to float. On a painted board it reads as a panel sign. Cut to the shape of the lettering it becomes a silhouette, which is the most popular version indoors.
Power and Safety Differ
Glass neon runs on high voltage through a transformer and needs careful installation and protection. LED neon runs on low voltage, which makes it the only realistic option in most reachable indoor positions.
Made to Your Artwork
Both start from vector artwork scaled to the final size, since the bends have a minimum radius that the design has to respect.
The honest comparison is this. Glass neon looks better and costs more, breaks in transit, and cannot be repaired by anybody on site. LED neon is cheaper, survives handling and can be replaced in sections. For a shop that will move premises in three years, LED is the sensible answer.
Compare with marquee signage, acrylic letters, and illuminated signage.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
