3D Marquee Signage in Dubai: Bulbs You Are Meant to See
Every other illuminated sign hides its light source. Marquee letters do the opposite and put the bulbs on the outside, in a row around the face of each character. 3D marquee signage in Dubai is theatre lighting borrowed for a shopfront, and it is chosen for the look of the bulbs themselves.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Holes Are Drilled Around the Face
Each lamp position is marked and drilled through the front panel before anything is assembled. Spacing has to follow the curve of the letter evenly, and an uneven run on a letter like an S is immediately visible.
Lamp Holders Go In From Behind
Holders are fitted and wired inside the letter, so the only thing on the face is the bulb itself. The wiring loom inside a marquee letter is considerably more involved than a module board.
Bulb Choice Sets the Period
Round golfball lamps read as classic cinema. Small clear filament bulbs read as a more current look. LED versions of both exist and use a fraction of the power, which matters when a single letter carries twenty of them.
The Face Behind the Bulbs
Usually painted metal in a solid colour, because the bulbs are the feature and a lit face would compete with them. Matt finishes stop the lamps reflecting across the panel.
Bulbs Are a Consumable
Lamps fail individually and a marquee sign with two dead bulbs looks neglected in a way a dimmer module never does. We supply spares with every sign and specify holders that can be changed from the front.
Where It Belongs
Restaurants, bars, cinemas, barbers and anywhere a deliberately nostalgic frontage suits the business. It also works well indoors above a bar or a booth, where the bulbs sit close enough to be seen properly and the warmth of the light does as much work as the lettering.
A practical note on power. A row of filament lamps draws far more than an equivalent LED sign and runs noticeably warm. On a long fascia this becomes a real electrical load, and your contractor needs to know the figure before the circuit is specified.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
