The Face Is Lasered Into Rubber
Your artwork is burned into a rubber sheet so the printing areas stand proud and everything else is cut away. Those raised areas pick up ink from a pad and transfer it, which is why fine detail and solid filled areas both cause trouble.
Self Inking Beats a Separate Pad
A self inking stamp holds its own pad inside and re inks on every return stroke. It is faster, cleaner and good for thousands of impressions before refilling. A traditional wooden handle stamp with a separate pad is cheaper and slower.
Detail Has a Lower Limit
Rubber spreads slightly under pressure, so very thin lines close up and small text fills in. Anything below about two millimetres of text height or a hairline rule will print as a smudge. We redraw artwork to survive that spread.
Size Comes From What It Marks
A company stamp going into a signature block on an invoice has a space to fit. Measure that space, because a stamp bigger than its box overlaps the printed text underneath and makes both unreadable.
Date and Numbering Bands Are Mechanical
A dater has rotating rubber bands set by hand each day, and a numberer advances automatically. Both add height to the stamp body and both need the artwork arranged around a fixed band position.
A Test Impression Sent First
We stamp a sheet and send the image for approval, because the only way to judge whether small text has held is to look at an actual impression.
A straightforward caution on signature stamps. A stamped signature is a convenience and not a legal equivalent in every situation, and some authorities and banks will not accept one. Check with whoever receives the document before relying on it.

- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
