Branded Mugs in Dubai: The Print Is Fired Into the Glaze
A ceramic mug is the only promotional item that goes through a kiln after it is decorated. Branded mugs in Dubai sit on office desks for years, through a dishwasher twice a week, and whether the print survives that comes down to how it was applied.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Decoration Goes Under or Over the Glaze
A transfer applied and then fired bonds into the glaze and is as permanent as the mug. A print applied on top of a finished glaze sits on the surface and will eventually scratch and fade. Only one of those survives a dishwasher for years.
Sublimation Needs a Coated Mug
Full colour photographic printing on a mug uses a special coating applied at the factory. That coating is why a sublimation mug can carry a photograph, and it is also why the result feels slightly different under a fingertip.
The Handle Dictates the Printable Area
A mug is a cylinder with a handle in the way, so artwork wraps around the two visible faces and has to stop clear of the handle on both sides. A design that wraps all the way round is not possible on a standard mug.
Colour on Ceramic Shifts in the Kiln
Firing changes pigments slightly, and the white of the mug is not the white of paper. Brand colours come out close and rarely exact, which is normal for this process and worth seeing on a sample.
Inside and Handle Colour Are Options
A coloured interior or a coloured handle against a white body is a cheap way to carry a brand colour without relying on the print. On a desk, that block of colour is what gets recognised from across a room.
One Fired and Washed First
We put a sample mug through a dishwasher cycle before a large order is confirmed, since that is the test the mug will actually face.
One limit on mug printing is breakage in transit. Ceramic travels badly, and a proportion of any large mug order will arrive chipped however well it is packed. We allow for that in the quantity and we would rather tell you now than send a short delivery.
Compare with travel mugs, glass water bottles, and the drinkware range.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorAI, EPS, SVG or PDF. Engraving, embroidery and screen printing all work from clean outlines.
- 02Keep it simple for small areasA pen barrel or a cap front holds a few centimetres of artwork. A simple logo reads better than a full lockup with a tagline.
- 03Give us the Pantone numbersIf a brand colour has to match, send the Pantone reference. Some methods print a limited number of colours.
- 04Send the breakdownFor clothing, the quantity in each size. For gift sets, how many of each item go in every box.
Quick answers.
If it is fired into the glaze, yes. Surface prints are not.
No. The handle interrupts it on both sides.
Close, not exact. Firing shifts pigments.
