Event Badges in Dubai: Readable at Two Metres, Binned by Monday
An event badge has a life measured in hours. It is produced at a registration desk, worn for a day or three, and thrown away. Event badges in Dubai are specified for that short life, which means the money goes into legibility and nothing else.
Quantity: 10 pieces · Printed sides: Single sided · Personalisation: Same design on every piece

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Name Has to Be Enormous
Delegates read each other's badges while shaking hands, from about two metres, without appearing to look. The first name goes on biggest, the company underneath, and the job title smaller or not at all. Most badge artwork reverses that order and fails.
It Is Printed at the Desk
Pre printing every delegate assumes nobody cancels, nobody is added and nobody arrives with a different company name. Printing on site from the registration list handles all three, and it is how large conferences actually run.
Card Is Enough
A printed card insert in a reusable holder costs a fraction of a fused plastic card and lasts exactly as long as it needs to. Spending on durability here is spending on a product being discarded on the last afternoon.
Colour Separates the Categories
Speaker, delegate, press, exhibitor and crew each take a colour or a printed band. Stewards and session doors are controlled by that colour, and nobody is reading the small print to check entitlement. Agree the colour for each category before the registration list is finalised.
Both Sides Get Printed
A badge on a lanyard spins. Printing the same name on both faces means it is readable whichever way round it has settled, and it costs almost nothing on a card insert.
Supplied With Holders and Lanyards Together
Inserts, holders and lanyards arrive as one delivery per category, counted, so a registration team opens a box and starts working.
The registration desk reality is queueing. Whatever is printed on site has to come out fast, so a design with heavy ink coverage and a slow printer creates a line at the door. We set the artwork up for speed as well as appearance.
Compare with window name badges, lanyards, and badges for events.

Setting up your file.
- 01Work at the finished sizeSet the page to the exact trimmed size of the piece, not a larger sheet with crop marks drawn in.
- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
