3D Aluminium Signage in Dubai: Weight Matters at Height
Put a stainless letter and an aluminium letter of the same size on a bench and the difference is obvious before you look at either finish. 3D aluminium signage in Dubai gets specified mostly because of that weight, and the saving compounds once the sign is going up a facade.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Less Weight, Simpler Fixings
A lighter letter needs a lighter fixing, which on plasterboard or a cladding panel can be the difference between a straightforward installation and a structural conversation. On a long fascia the total load drops substantially.
It Folds and Welds Easily
Aluminium is forgiving to fabricate, so tight internal corners and small counters inside letters come out cleanly. On a typeface with fine detail this shows in the finished shape.
Powder Coating Is the Usual Finish
The letter is sprayed and baked, which gives a hard even colour in any shade you specify. Unlike anodising, this means brand colours are matched properly instead of chosen from a short list of metal tones.
It Does Not Rust
Aluminium oxidises to a thin stable layer and stops. There is no equivalent of the brown staining that affects steel in coastal air, which makes it a quietly sensible choice near the water.
It Dents More Easily
The same softness that makes it easy to work makes it easier to damage. At ground level, on a door or a gatepost, a knock leaves a mark that cannot be pushed back out. Above head height this stops mattering.
Built as Lit or Unlit
The same fabrication carries modules for frontlit and backlit work, or stays solid for an unlit letter. Most illuminated shopfront letters in the city have aluminium returns whatever the face is made of, because the material is light enough to hang at height and stiff enough to hold a crisp edge once folded.
Here is where we would not use it. On a reception desk where people lean on the sign, or on a frontage at pavement level in a busy mall, something harder earns its cost. Aluminium is at its best out of reach.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
