Envelope Printing in Dubai: Printing Around Seams and a Flap
An envelope is already a finished object before anybody prints on it, and that changes everything. Envelope printing in Dubai works around glued seams, a folded flap and a window, none of which were put there for the benefit of the artwork.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Printing on a Made Envelope Has Thickness Steps
Side seams and the bottom flap create ridges of double and triple paper. Ink crossing one of those lines shows a visible step or a gap, so designs are kept inside the flat central panel on anything printed after conversion.
Printing Flat Then Converting Removes the Limit
For larger quantities the sheet is printed flat as an unfolded blank, then cut and glued into an envelope afterwards. That allows full coverage to the very edge, including over the flap, and it is how a fully printed envelope is actually made.
The Size Has to Match the Folded Contents
DL takes an A4 letterhead folded in three. C5 takes it folded once. C4 takes it flat and unfolded. Picking the envelope before deciding how the letter folds is the usual cause of a stationery set that does not fit together.
A Window Fixes Where the Address Goes
If the envelope has a window, the recipient address on the letterhead has to appear exactly behind it once folded. That alignment is a measurement, and it is worth testing with one printed letter and one envelope before ordering either in quantity.
The Seal Changes How It Is Used
Gummed flaps need licking or wetting and are cheapest. Peel and seal has a strip and closes instantly, which matters when somebody is sending out two hundred invitations in an afternoon.
Checked Against Your Folded Letterhead
We fold one of your actual letterheads and put it inside a sample envelope before the run, since window alignment cannot be confirmed any other way.
The constraint comes from the machine. Envelopes do not feed reliably through most desktop printers, so addressing them in house usually means labels or hand writing. If a long mailing is planned, printing the addresses here while the envelopes are made is the easier route.

Setting up your file.
- 01Work at the finished sizeSet the page to the exact trimmed size of the piece, not a larger sheet with crop marks drawn in.
- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
Quick answers.
Only if printed flat and converted afterwards.
DL folded in three, C5 folded once, C4 flat.
Rarely well. Most desktop printers misfeed them.
