Calendar Printing in Dubai: Twelve Months of Being Looked At
A calendar is the longest lived piece of promotional print there is. It hangs in an office for a year and gets glanced at daily. Calendar printing in Dubai is ordered in the last quarter for the year ahead, and the deadline is the real constraint.
Quantity: 25 calendars · Size: A5 landscape · Pages: 13 sheets — cover + 12 months · Base: Card easel · Turnaround: Standard — 7 working days

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Wall and Desk Are Different Products
A wall calendar is read from across a room, so the date grid is large and the image dominates. A desk calendar is read from half a metre, stands on its own easel and usually carries a week or a month per page. The two share nothing but the dates.
Wire Binding and a Hanging Hole
Wall calendars are bound at the head with twin loop wire and need a punched hole or a hanger that will take the weight for a year. A stapled calendar tears out of its own hole by about March.
The Date Grid Has to Be Checked by Somebody
Weekday alignment, leap years and the local public holidays all have to be correct, and holidays in the UAE are confirmed by announcement and can move. Somebody on your side has to approve the grid, because an error here lives on a wall all year.
Twelve Images Means Twelve Decisions
Every month needs a picture worth looking at for thirty days. Most calendar projects stall here, not at the printing, so gathering and approving the images is the part to start early.
It Is a Year of Advertising
Unlike a flyer, this stays in front of a client for twelve months, which is why the branding can afford to be quiet. A discreet logo and good images get kept on the wall, and a calendar that shouts gets replaced in February.
Bound and Hung Before Approval
We bind one complete calendar and hang it up here, because a hanging hole in the wrong place is only obvious when the thing is on a wall.
The scheduling truth is that everybody wants calendars in December. Binding and finishing capacity across the city tightens in the final weeks of the year, so a calendar confirmed in October is straightforward and one confirmed in mid December may not be deliverable.

Setting up your file.
- 01Work at the finished sizeSet the page to the exact trimmed size of the piece, not a larger sheet with crop marks drawn in.
- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
