Plastic and Metal Business Cards in Dubai: Not Printed and Cut at All
These leave the paper process entirely. A plastic card is built the way an access card is built, and a metal one is etched or cut with no ink involved. Plastic and metal business cards in Dubai are made on different machines to everything else in this category.
Quantity: 100 cards · Printed sides: Single sided · Finish: Matt lamination

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
A Plastic Card Is Fused, Not Laminated
Printed layers go between clear PVC overlays and the stack is pressed under heat until it becomes one piece. There is no laminate edge to peel, which is why these survive a wallet for years while a laminated paper card delaminates.
Frosted and Clear Plastic Change the Rules
Clear and frosted PVC have no white behind the ink, so anything that must stay solid needs a printed white layer underneath. Leaving areas genuinely transparent is the reason people choose clear plastic, and it only works if the design plans for it.
Metal Cards Are Etched or Cut
Stainless steel and brass carry the design as etched recesses, filled with colour, or as shapes cut right through the card. There is no printing. That is why a metal card holds a design permanently and why photographic artwork cannot be used.
Thickness Is a Trade Against Pocket Space
A standard plastic card matches a bank card at about point seven six of a millimetre. Metal cards run thicker and heavier, and a stack of twenty is genuinely awkward to carry. These are cards you hand out in small numbers, deliberately.
Cutting Through Metal Takes Setup
Cut out detail in steel needs the path programmed and the sheet fixtured, and fine internal shapes need a minimum width to survive. We check the artwork against that minimum before anything is cut, because a snapped detail scraps the card.
Sampled Before the Run
On metal we produce one card and send it, because an etched finish is impossible to judge from a screen and nobody should approve a steel order sight unseen.
The straightforward limit is quantity. Plastic and metal both carry real setup, so these make sense in tens and small hundreds for directors and sales leads, and they stop making sense as a card for a whole company. Most clients order both these and standard paper cards.

Setting up your file.
- 01Work at the finished sizeSet the page to the exact trimmed size of the piece, not a larger sheet with crop marks drawn in.
- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
