Name Plate Materials in Dubai: How Each One Ages on the Wall
Every material looks good on the day it goes up. The useful question is what it looks like eighteen months later, after a cleaner has gone at it with spray and a cloth twice a week. These are the name plate materials in Dubai we actually stock, followed through their first couple of years instead of listed by their good points.
Every option here, one quote for all of them.
What happens to your order before it reaches you.
Five steps, from the brief you send us to the moment it is in place.
Month One: They All Look the Same
Fresh out of the film, acrylic, metal and wood are all crisp and all slightly glossy. This is the point where people choose on looks alone, and it is the least informative moment in the plate's life.
Month Six: The Corridor Starts to Tell
Acrylic in a busy corridor begins to show fine scratching across the face, mostly at shoulder height where bags swing. Brushed metal takes the same knocks and hides them, because the brushed grain breaks up the light. Wood is untouched so far, assuming it is indoors.
Month Twelve: Cleaning Products Show Up
This is where the differences get real. Solvent based sprays dull acrylic over time and leave it slightly cloudy under direct light. Metal shrugs them off. Wood does not enjoy repeated wet cloths and will lift at the edges if it is cleaned that way, which is why we keep wood for doors and off reception counters.
Month Eighteen: Outdoors Separates From Indoors
Anything we supplied as indoor stock and someone mounted outside is now obvious. Colour has shifted, the engraving has filled with dust and lost its shadow. Outdoor rated stock at the same age looks close to new. We would rather talk you into the right one at the start than reprint later.
Choosing Without Guessing
Tell us where the plate goes, who cleans it and how often, and we will name one material. Samples are available if you want to see finishes side by side before committing to a floor's worth.
The honest limit here is a simple one. We can tell you how each material behaves, but we cannot control how a building gets cleaned, and cleaning does more damage to name plates than any amount of normal use.
Next: office name plates, house and villa plates, or start at the top.
Quick answers.
