The Snap Closure Will Not Reopen
A row of plastic studs locks into holes in the band. Once snapped, the only way off is to cut it, and the closure is unaffected by water in a way an adhesive tab is not. The studs engage with an audible click, so staff know the band is properly closed.
Chlorine Does Not Touch It
Vinyl ignores pool chemicals, sunscreen and salt water. This is the specific advantage over fabric, which holds chlorine and eventually smells. Sunscreen is the other thing vinyl shrugs off and fabric absorbs.
Sizing Adjusts Across the Range
The row of holes allows adult and child sizing from the same band, which matters at a venue admitting both all day. Staff pick the hole that fits and the surplus tail can be trimmed off.
The Print Is on the Surface
Unlike fabric, artwork sits on top of the vinyl. It survives water but will scuff with heavy abrasion, and a band worn for a week shows wear on the printed face. Keep artwork simple and high contrast so it still reads after a week in a pool.
It Stays Comfortable Wet
Vinyl does not absorb water or hold it against skin, so it dries instantly and does not chafe the way soaked fabric webbing can. That matters most on a band somebody is sleeping in.

Resorts typically run a different colour per day, so these are boxed and labelled by colour with the sequence agreed in advance. Label each box by day and the gate team never has to guess.
The straightforward limitation is appearance. A vinyl band reads as functional and plasticky next to a woven fabric one, and nobody keeps it as a souvenir. For a music festival where the band is part of the experience, fabric wins.
