A die cut strip through the adhesive means any attempt to peel the band apart tears it. That is the security, and it is adequate for a single day event. Press the tab firmly for a few seconds, because a band fitted in a hurry is the one that comes off within the hour.

Peel, wrap, press. No slider to thread and no lock to engage, which at a gate with a queue is the difference between moving people through and holding them up. Two staff on a gate fit several hundred an hour without a queue forming.

Tyvek itself does not disintegrate when wet, so a sudden shower is survivable. Repeated soaking and a few days of wear will still loosen the adhesive. A poolside afternoon is fine. Three days with a water feature is not.

Bands can be numbered through the run, which allows reconciliation against ticket sales and makes spot checking meaningful. Numbers can be split into ranges per gate, so you know where any band was issued.

At volume the unit cost is low enough that over ordering is sensible. Running out at a gate is a serious problem and the surplus costs almost nothing. Order ten percent over your expected headcount and stop thinking about it.
