Totem Display Stands in Dubai: Tall, Narrow and Seen Over a Crowd
A totem is a freestanding tower, usually two to three metres tall and narrow enough to stand almost anywhere. Totem display stands in Dubai are used where a message needs to be visible above people's heads in a busy space, which is a different job from a backdrop behind them.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Height Is the Whole Point
At a crowded event, anything below head height disappears. A totem puts its message where it can still be read from across a hall when the floor is full of people.
It Takes Almost No Floor
A footprint of half a metre square or less. That is what lets totems go beside entrances, between pillars and at the ends of aisles where nothing wider would be permitted.
Several Faces Can Be Used
Two sided, three sided or four. A four sided totem in the middle of a concourse works from every direction, which no flat display can do.
Fabric or Rigid Changes the Build
Tension fabric over a light frame packs small and travels well. A rigid totem with a lit panel or a screen looks more substantial and needs a vehicle and a trolley.
Stability Needs Attention
Tall and narrow is an unstable combination. A weighted base or ballast inside the structure is what stops it going over, particularly near doors where there is a draught.
Supplied Assembled or Flat
Fabric totems pack into a bag. Rigid ones ship assembled or in two sections, depending on what will get through the venue doors. Think about what goes at the top. A totem is read from a distance above a crowd, so the upper third carries the message and the lower half is usually hidden by people. Designing it as one tall panel wastes most of its height. Keep the lower third plain. On a crowded floor that part of the totem is behind people for the whole event, so anything important placed there is paid for and never seen.
The constraint worth raising: a totem in a public walkway is something people walk into. Venues often require a minimum footprint or a weighted base for that reason, and it is worth checking the rules before specifying a slim one.
