Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Frame Is the Durable Part
A scissor lattice of linked arms, hinged and riveted. There is very little in it to wear out, and a well treated frame goes to twenty or thirty shows without complaint. Most frames are retired because the company changed and not because anything broke.
Graphics Are the Consumable
Panels or fabric attach to the frame and come off independently. A rebrand, a new product or a different show message is a graphics order against hardware you already own, at a fraction of the cost of buying again.
Parts Can Be Replaced Individually
Magnetic bars, end caps and feet go missing between venues far more often than anything breaks. These are stocked items and replacing one is cheaper than most people assume.
Arms Can Be Repaired
If a lattice arm bends, usually from being forced during a rushed pack down, that section can be replaced without a new frame. It is worth asking before writing off a stand that will not open properly.
Storage Decides Its Lifespan
Frames stored in their case in a dry store last indefinitely. Frames left in a hot vehicle or a damp warehouse corrode at the joints, and the hinges are where that shows first.

New graphics are fitted and checked against your own frame before delivery wherever you can get it to us, because panel systems vary between manufacturers and a near fit is no fit at all. Keep a note of the system name and year. Parts are not interchangeable between manufacturers, and identifying an unmarked frame from photographs years later is the main reason repairable stands get thrown away.
Being honest about when to replace instead of repair: once a frame is more than a few years old and two or three arms have gone, a new one costs less than the accumulated repairs and arrives with a warranty. We will tell you which side of that line you are on.

- 02Match resolution to distanceSomething read from a few metres away needs far less resolution than a business card. Around 100 dpi at full size is usually plenty.
- 03Tell us how it will be fixedHems, eyelets, pole pockets and frames take up material around the edge. Tell us the fixing and prepress allows for it.
