Flex Face Signage in Dubai: One Tensioned Sheet Across a Whole Box
A flex face is a single printed sheet stretched across the front of a lightbox and held in a frame around its edge. Flex face signage in Dubai is how most large illuminated boxes are faced, because nothing else covers that area in one piece without a join.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Sheet Is Made Oversize
The face is printed larger than the opening, with extra material all round. That surplus is what gets gripped by the frame, and it is the reason a flex face cannot be made from a sheet cut exactly to size.
A Welded Edge Takes the Pull
A rope or a plastic bead is welded into the perimeter. The frame grips that bead and never the material itself, which spreads the tension evenly around the whole edge.
Tensioning Happens From the Corners In
The face is fitted loosely and then tightened progressively, working around the frame. Tightening one side fully before starting another drags the print out of square and the artwork sits crooked in the box.
Light Has to Spread Behind It
Internal lighting sits far enough back to even out before reaching the face. Too shallow a box and the lamp positions show as bright stripes across the graphic, especially on a pale background.
Replacement Is Cheap and Quick
Changing the message means one new sheet. The box, frame and lighting all stay, so a rebrand on a large sign costs a fraction of its original price.
Fitted in Position
On large boxes the face is fitted at height from a platform, with the old one removed and the new one tensioned in the same visit. Doing both in one access booking is usually the largest single saving available on a flex face change.
A limit to understand: a flex face moves. In wind it flexes slightly, and over years in full sun it will slacken and need re-tensioning. That is normal for the product and it is why these have adjustable frames.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
