Notepads in Dubai: Designed to Be Used Up
A notepad exists to be torn apart. Sheets come off one at a time until there are none left, and then somebody asks for more. Notepads in Dubai go onto meeting tables, hotel desks and reception counters, and being consumable is the whole point of them.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Glue at the Head Holds the Stack
Sheets are gathered, clamped and painted along one edge with a flexible padding glue. It holds the stack firmly and releases one sheet cleanly when pulled. Nothing is stapled and nothing is bound.
A Backing Board Makes It Writable
A grey board glued to the base lets somebody write on the top sheet without a desk underneath. Without it the pad flexes and the pen goes through. It is the cheapest part of the product and the one that makes it usable.
Sheet Count Sets the Reorder Cycle
Fifty sheets is a pad that lasts a few weeks on a busy desk. A hundred lasts a quarter. Because these are consumed, the sheet count is really a decision about how often you want to reorder.
Print Goes Round the Writing Area
A header with the logo, a footer with the contact details, and the middle left clear. Anything printed across the writing area competes with the pen, and uncoated paper is used so a pen works immediately.
They Get Used by Other People
A pad on a meeting table is written on by visitors and taken away with their notes on it. That is the best thing about the item, and it is the reason the footer with the phone number earns its space.
Padded, Boarded and Shrink Wrapped
Pads are glued, backed and wrapped in counted bundles, which keeps the top sheet clean in a stockroom until somebody takes one.
What a notepad will not do is last. There is no scenario where a pad is kept, so spending on heavy stock, lamination or a printed cover is spending on something being thrown away a sheet at a time. Put the budget into the quantity instead.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorAI, EPS, SVG or PDF. Engraving, embroidery and screen printing all work from clean outlines.
- 02Keep it simple for small areasA pen barrel or a cap front holds a few centimetres of artwork. A simple logo reads better than a full lockup with a tagline.
- 03Give us the Pantone numbersIf a brand colour has to match, send the Pantone reference. Some methods print a limited number of colours.
- 04Send the breakdownFor clothing, the quantity in each size. For gift sets, how many of each item go in every box.
