Digital Printing in Dubai: Every Sheet Can Be Different
There is no plate, so there is nothing fixing the image between one sheet and the next. Digital printing in Dubai is the only paper process where sheet one and sheet five hundred can carry different names, numbers and content at no extra cost.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Image Is Built Fresh Every Sheet
A laser or an inkjet head lays the image down from the file each time the sheet passes. Nothing is transferred from a physical carrier, which is exactly why variable data works and why there is no setup to pay for.
Toner Is Fused and Ink Is Absorbed
Toner is a powder melted onto the surface by a heated roller, sitting slightly proud with a faint sheen. Inkjet soaks into the fibres and looks flatter and more like offset. Neither is better, and they look different on uncoated stock.
Short Runs Carry No Penalty
Twenty five copies is a sensible order. For personalised certificates, small company profiles, test batches and anything proofed before a long run, this is the only process that makes financial sense.
Turnaround Is Measured in Hours
With no plates to make and no make ready, a file can become finished sheets the same day. Most genuinely urgent work in this building goes digital for that reason alone.
The Stock Range Is Narrower
Digital presses have a weight and texture window. Very heavy board, unusual textured stocks and some synthetics either will not feed or will not hold toner, and offset handles those comfortably.
Sheets Pulled Through the Run
We take sheets at intervals and compare them against the first approved one, since drift is only visible when two sheets from different points sit side by side.
On colour across a long run, be aware of drift. A digital press can shift slightly over several hundred sheets, so a solid brand colour may not be identical between the first box and the last. On anything colour critical in quantity, offset with a mixed spot ink is the safer specification.
Compare with offset printing, ID card printing, and production processes.
Setting up your file.
- 01Work at the finished sizeSet the page to the exact trimmed size of the piece, not a larger sheet with crop marks drawn in.
- 02Add 3 mm bleedRun background colour and images 3 mm past every edge that gets trimmed, so no white line shows after cutting.
- 03Keep text off the edgeHold text and logos at least 4 mm inside the trim line, clear of the blade.
- 04Send a print-ready PDFCMYK, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size. AI, EPS and high-resolution JPEG also work.
Quick answers.
Yes. That is the main advantage over offset.
Same day for many jobs. There is no setup.
It can drift slightly. Offset is safer for critical colour.
