Office Door Signage in Dubai: Signs for Rooms, Not People
Half the doors in any office have nothing to do with a person. Meeting rooms, stores, server rooms, prayer rooms, pantries and fire exits all need marking, and none of them will ever change because somebody got promoted. Office door signage in Dubai covers that half, and it is planned completely differently from staff plates.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Every Door Gets Listed First
We walk the floor and write down every door, including the ones nobody thinks of as needing a sign. Cleaners' cupboards and riser doors are the usual omissions, and they are exactly the doors somebody opens by mistake during a client visit.
Room Names Get Standardised
Meeting Room 1 and Boardroom and The Blue Room cannot coexist on one floor. We agree a naming pattern across every door before anything is made, which usually means somebody has to give up a favourite name.
Permanent and Changeable Are Separated
A pantry will be a pantry in five years. A room currently used by the finance team will not. Permanent function doors get fixed plates, anything likely to change gets a slide in holder, and sorting doors into those two groups is the most valuable hour in the project.
Statutory Signs Are Kept Apart
Fire exits, extinguisher points and electrical warnings are defined by regulation. These are made to the required specification and are deliberately not restyled to match the scheme, because a fire exit sign that looks like interior decoration fails at the one moment it matters.
Fitting Around the Door Furniture
Plates go on the handle side at a consistent height, clear of closers and card readers. We check for readers before fixing, since a plate over an access panel gets taken off within a week.
Handover
You get a door schedule listing every sign and its position, which makes the next change a single line item instead of another survey.
One limitation worth hearing early. Glass doors need either applied vinyl or a standoff plate on the adjacent wall. Adhesive plates stuck to glass look temporary from the first day and tend to peel at the corners in air conditioning.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
