Custom Life-Size Cutouts in Dubai: When It Is Not a Person
Not every cutout is somebody standing. Custom life-size cutouts in Dubai are products, vehicles, mascots, logos and objects scaled up to real size, and the cut path around them is where the job is won or lost.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Silhouette Does the Work
From across a room nobody sees the detail, only the outline. A shape that reads instantly as a bottle, a car or a character succeeds. One that needs explaining does not.
Thin Elements Are the Weak Point
A handle, an aerial, a tail or a raised arm sticking out from the body will break off. We either thicken those elements slightly, bridge them back into the main shape, or advise against including them.
Internal Cutouts Need Deciding
Gaps inside the shape, between an arm and a body, look sharper but take material away from the structure. On a tall cutout we often close small internal gaps to keep it rigid.
Scale Has to Be Checked Against the Room
An object scaled to life size can be far larger than anyone pictured. A full size car bonnet or a two metre bottle needs a doorway it fits through and a floor it can stand on.
The Base Follows the Shape
An irregular outline rarely balances on a single strut. Wide shapes take a foot plate, and top heavy ones need weight at the base before they will stand reliably.
Proofed as an Outline First
We send the cut path for approval before production, because seeing the shape without the image is what reveals whether it reads. Stand back from the outline when you review it. Cut paths are approved on screen at a few centimetres across, where every detail looks fine, and the only useful test is whether the shape still reads when it is small enough to see all at once.
The honest limit is the cut path itself. Very intricate outlines with many small details cost more to prepare, cut more slowly and break more easily, and a simplified silhouette almost always performs better in the room.

Setting up your file.
- 01Work at full size or to scaleBuild the file at full size, or at a stated scale such as 1:10 when the canvas gets too big, and tell us the scale.
- 02Match resolution to distanceSomething read from a few metres away needs far less resolution than a business card. Around 100 dpi at full size is usually plenty.
- 03Tell us how it will be fixedHems, eyelets, pole pockets and frames take up material around the edge. Tell us the fixing and prepress allows for it.
- 04Send logos as vectorsAI, EPS, SVG or PDF keeps edges sharp at large sizes. Embed or outline the fonts.
