Blockout Banners in Dubai: A Grey Core You Never See
Cut a blockout banner in half and the edge shows three layers: print, a dark grey centre, print. That middle layer is the entire product. Blockout banners in Dubai are what you use when light behind the banner would otherwise turn it into a shadow puppet of whatever is on the other side.
Material: 440gsm frontlit PVC · Finishing: Hemmed with eyelets · Installation: Supply only

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Core Stops Light Dead
The grey centre is opaque. Hold a finished banner up to a window and nothing comes through, not a shape and not a glow. Standard PVC in the same position shows the frame behind it and any writing on the reverse.
Both Faces Print Independently
Because nothing transmits through the core, the two sides can carry completely different artwork with no ghosting. Two unrelated messages, two languages, or one face for each direction of travel.
It Is Heavier Than It Looks
Three layers mean more weight per square metre. Fixings and frames are specified accordingly, and a blockout banner going into an existing frame needs that frame checked and not assumed.
Where the Weight Pays Off
The extra mass makes it hang dead flat and move less in a draught, which is why hanging signs in atriums and mall drops are usually blockout even when light is not the issue.
Handling It
Roll, never fold. A crease across a three layer material can separate the layers along the fold line, and that shows as a pale stripe you cannot remove.
Edges Need Sealing
The exposed core at a cut edge is a different colour from both faces and will show as a thin grey line. Hems hide it on most banners. Where an edge has to stay raw, we seal and trim it so the line reads as a deliberate border instead of an unfinished cut. For a free hanging banner, top and bottom pockets with a weighted bar below keep the whole face flat.
The honest counterpoint is cost. Blockout is meaningfully more expensive than single layer PVC, and on a banner flat against a solid wall it buys you nothing at all. Save it for anything hanging free or lit from behind.
