Digital Kiosks in Dubai: A Screen Somebody Walks Up To
A kiosk is a screen in a floor standing enclosure, usually touch enabled, placed where a person will approach it alone and use it without help. Digital kiosks in Dubai appear in malls, clinics, government service halls and hotel lobbies, and the enclosure matters as much as the screen inside it.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Height Is Set by Reach, Not by Looks
The interactive area has to sit where a standing adult can comfortably touch all of it, including the bottom of the screen. Wheelchair access brings that lower still, and both are worth agreeing before the enclosure is built.
The Enclosure Takes the Abuse
Kiosks live in public and get knocked, leaned on and occasionally kicked. Powder coated steel with a toughened glass front and a locked service door is the standard build, and the lock position is chosen so a queue is not watching somebody open it.
Glare Decides the Position
A glossy screen opposite a glazed mall front is unusable for part of the day. We look at the position at the brightest hour, and where there is no alternative we specify an anti glare panel and a deeper bezel.
Cables Come Up Through the Base
Power and network enter through the floor plate so nothing is visible or reachable. A kiosk with a cable running across the floor is both a trip hazard and the first thing to be unplugged.
Branding Wraps the Body
The enclosure is printed or wrapped so it reads as part of the environment instead of a black box. This is usually the cheapest part of the build and the part that decides whether people approach it.
Delivered Assembled
Kiosks arrive built and tested, needing only a power and network point in the right place on the floor.
The thing to settle early is who maintains the software. We build, install and brand the kiosk and set up the display, but the application running on it, its content and its updates usually belong to your IT team or a software supplier.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
