Peninsula Booths in Dubai: Open on Three Sides

A peninsula has aisles on three sides and backs onto one neighbour. Peninsula booths in Dubai sit at the head of a row, and with only one wall left the design problem inverts completely.

How it's made

From your file to the finished job.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.

01 / 06

One Wall for Everything

The single back wall has to carry the branding, hide the storage and support whatever lighting the stand needs. It becomes the spine of the whole design.

02 / 06

The Stand Is Seen in the Round

Three open sides means visitors see the structure from almost every angle, including the back of anything placed in the middle. Nothing can be left unfinished.

03 / 06

Traffic Passes on Three Routes

A peninsula interrupts people moving along three different paths. That is the value of the pitch, and it means entry points should be obvious from all three aisles.

04 / 06

Overhead Branding Earns Its Cost

With little wall to build on, a hanging sign or a tall tower carries the name above the hall. On a peninsula this moves from optional to close to necessary.

05 / 06

The Neighbour Behind Matters

Your back wall is their back wall. Height limits near the shared boundary are set by the organiser, and the rear face of your structure is often visible from their stand.

06 / 06

Designed From the Plan

Which side the neighbour sits on determines everything, so the floor plan is more important here than the dimensions. Treat the floor as a design surface. With three sides open and little wall available, a printed or coloured floor defines where the stand begins more effectively than anything you are able to build at eye level on the pitch. A printed floor covering also survives being walked on for a full week, which a vinyl graphic laid over a hall carpet frequently does not manage.

A practical warning: a peninsula with furniture scattered across it reads as a thoroughfare and people walk straight through. Defining the space with a floor treatment or a central feature is what makes visitors stop instead of pass.
