Grommets and Eyelets in Dubai: A Brass Ring Under a Press
An eyelet is a brass ring pressed through the hem so a rope or tie has something to pull against that is not the banner itself. Grommets and eyelets in Dubai go in at a bench press after hemming, one at a time, at measured spacing.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Positions Are Marked First
Spacing is set out along the hem before anything is punched. Fifty centimetres is our standard, closer on outdoor work and always one in each corner. Marking first is what keeps them in a straight line, which is visible from a distance even when nobody is looking for it.
The Hole Is Cut, Not Torn
A hollow punch removes a clean disc of material. A torn hole leaves a ragged edge that starts a split under load, so the punch is kept sharp and changed often.
Two Halves Are Pressed Together
The ring goes through from the front, the washer sits behind, and the press rolls the brass over to lock them. Done properly you cannot turn the finished eyelet with your fingers.
Corners Get Attention
Corner eyelets take the most load of any fixing on the banner. These sit slightly in from the edge, never right at the corner, so there is material on two sides to share the pull.
Brass or Nickel
Brass is standard and suits most work. Nickel plated is used where the fixings sit in view against a pale graphic and a gold ring would stand out.
Ring Size Follows the Tie
Twelve millimetre is our standard and takes cable ties, bungees and most rope. Larger rings go in where the banner is being lashed to scaffold tube with thick rope, since a cord forced through an undersized ring chafes against the brass and wears through at that one point long before the material fails.
A straight word about spacing. Wider spacing saves a little money and is the first thing a cheap quote trims. Outdoors it is a false economy, because the wind finds the unsupported span between two eyelets and works on it.
