Straight Fabric Tension Backdrops in Dubai: Pushing the Bead Into the Channel
A tension fabric backdrop has no visible fixings anywhere. The graphic is held entirely by a silicone bead sewn around its edge, pushed into a groove that runs the whole way round the frame. Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Frame Goes Up Square First
Aluminium extrusions lock into a rectangle and are checked for square before any fabric appears. A frame slightly out of true shows as a graphic that will not sit flat, and no amount of tensioning fixes it.
The Bead Goes In at the Corners
Fitting starts at the four corners and works along each side towards the middle. Starting at the centre of a side pushes slack into the corners, which is where it is impossible to remove.
Tension Is Built In by Design
The graphic is cut very slightly smaller than the frame opening, so fitting it stretches the fabric. That deliberate undersize is what produces a flat face with no ripples.
It Takes No Tools
The bead pushes in with fingers or a small plastic tool. Anyone can fit one, which is why these are specified for teams who set up their own stands.
Both Faces Can Be Dressed
Where the back of the wall is visible, a second graphic goes into the channel on the reverse so the structure is hidden from every angle.
Packed Folded
Fabric graphics fold into a bag and the frame breaks into a case. Fold creases pull out under tension as the panel is fitted. Order a spare graphic if the wall travels. Fabric is the cheap part of this system and the part that gets marked, so a second printed face kept in the case means a damaged graphic never stops a stand going up.
Something worth knowing about replacements: the bead and the channel are not universal between manufacturers. A graphic made for one system will not fit another, so tell us what frame you already own before we print anything.
