Custom Canvas Framing in Dubai: Stretched Over a Kiln Dried Frame
A canvas print is cloth pulled tight over a timber frame and fixed at the back, so the piece needs no glass and no surround. Custom canvas framing in Dubai is printed with pigment inks on 380gsm poly-cotton, stretched over a kiln dried frame and finished with a protective varnish, which is why it arrives ready to hang out of the box.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Canvas Is Printed Oversize
Extra material is printed on every edge, because that surplus wraps around the frame and is stapled at the back. A file prepared to exact size loses its edges to the wrap.
Kiln Dried Timber Stays Straight
Green or poorly seasoned timber twists as it dries, and a twisted frame pulls the canvas out of true. Kiln drying removes the moisture before the frame is made, which is what keeps it flat here.
Tension Is Set by Hand
The canvas is pulled from the centre of each side outwards, working around the frame. Even tension is what stops ripples forming in the corners, and it is the part that cannot be rushed.
Varnish Protects the Surface
A protective coat goes over the finished print. It guards against handling and dust and slightly deepens the colour, and it is what makes a canvas cleanable with a dry cloth.
Large Pieces Get Braced
Anything above about a metre and a half carries a cross brace across the back. Without it the frame bows inward over time in the humidity here, and the bow shows along the edges.
Used Across Offices and Homes
Reception walls, clinic corridors, hotel rooms and family photographs are where most of these end up, and they arrive with fixings fitted. Think about where the image sits in the wrap. On a gallery wrapped canvas the outer few centimetres disappear around the edge of the frame, so a photograph with faces or text near the border needs the crop checking before it goes on the machine.
Being honest about what canvas suits: it reads softer than a framed photographic print and loses the finest detail into the weave. For a sharp architectural image or fine text, a framed print behind glass is the better choice.
Compare with canvas on a wooden frame, aluminium frames, and custom photo prints.
