Outdoor LED Screen Signage in Dubai: Built for Sun and Sealed Against Dust
An outdoor screen has two enemies here and neither is rain. Outdoor LED screen signage in Dubai has to stay readable in direct sunlight and keep fine dust out of its electronics through a shamal, and every difference from an indoor panel comes back to one of those two.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Brightness Is Measured Against the Sun
Outdoor panels run several times brighter than indoor ones. A screen that looks painfully bright in a workshop is the correct specification for a facade facing west at four in the afternoon.
It Dims Itself Automatically
A light sensor drops the output as daylight fades. Without it, a screen set for midday is blinding at night and draws complaints from anyone living opposite. This is standard on everything we install outdoors.
Sealing Keeps the Dust Out
Modules are rated and gasketed front and back. Fine dust is the real test in this climate, and a panel sealed only at the front will accumulate it inside over a couple of seasons until modules start failing.
Heat Has to Go Somewhere
A bright screen in forty degree ambient generates serious heat behind the panel. Service access and ventilation are designed in from the start, and on larger screens that means active cooling in the rear cabinet.
Service Access Decides the Build
Front serviceable panels can be worked on from a cherry picker. Rear serviceable ones need walkable access behind. On a wall mounted screen with no space behind it, front service is the only sensible answer.
Commissioned on Site
Brightness curves and the dimming schedule are set after dark on the installed screen, because the ambient conditions at the actual location are what matter. We return a second evening once the screen has run a full day, since the first night settings often want a small adjustment.
A planning point that catches people out. Outdoor screens facing a road or a residential building are frequently subject to rules on brightness, content and operating hours. Check with the authority before specifying, because a screen that has to be switched off at ten is a different business case.

Setting up your file.
- 01Send the logo as a vectorLetters and shapes are cut from your outlines, so we need AI, EPS, SVG or PDF, not a screenshot or a JPEG.
- 02Measure the real spaceWidth, height and a straight-on photo of the wall or fascia. The tape measure often disagrees with the drawing.
- 03Send names as textFor plates and directories, send names and titles in a document, so nothing is retyped from an image.
- 04Tell us about power and the wallFor lit signs, where the nearest power point is. For every sign, what the wall is made of.
