It Has to Stay On
Hand openings or a sewn neck section stop it sliding off while somebody is jumping and cheering. A plain rectangle held at two corners is on the floor within ten minutes.
Size Follows the Wearer
Large enough to cover the back and shoulders of an adult, which is substantially bigger than a hand waving flag. Children's sizes are a separate run.
The Design Reads From Behind
Most of the time a body flag is seen from the back, in a crowd. The strongest element of the design belongs where the shoulders are, not centred on a rectangle.
Fabric Has to Be Comfortable
Worn against skin in heat, so a lighter breathable polyester is used. Heavy flag cloth looks good and becomes unbearable inside half an hour outdoors here.
Hemmed All Round
Every edge is sewn, because these are pulled on and off repeatedly and an unhemmed edge gives way at the first snag.
They Go Home With People
Like waving flags, these are kept and worn again. That makes them one of the better value giveaways at a sporting event. These photograph best from behind in a crowd, so the back of the design is the side that matters. Centre the strongest element across the shoulders and keep the lower half simple. Sizing matters more than it does on any other flag here, because a body flag that is too small reads as a scarf and one that is too large drags on the ground. We make an adult and a child size as standard.
A sensible caution for venues: anything worn into a stadium may be subject to the venue's rules on size and material. Check before ordering a large quantity for a specific fixture.
