Social Media Frames in Dubai: Held Up by Two People at Once
A social media frame is a big empty rectangle people stand behind and hold. Social media frames in Dubai turn up at launches, races and conferences, and the whole engineering problem is that somebody has to lift it, hold it steady and smile at the same time.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Weight Is the Design Problem
A frame big enough for four people gets heavy fast. Five millimetre Forex holds a large opening without sagging and stays liftable. Thicker board is stiffer and nobody wants to hold it for a second shot.
The Opening Decides How Many Fit
A frame for two is a manageable object. A frame for a group of eight is nearly two metres wide and needs a border deep enough to stop the long sides flexing in the middle. Decide the group size first, because it sets the board, the border and the weight together.
Hands Go Somewhere Specific
Cut hand holes in the bottom border, or keep the border wide enough to grip comfortably. Without either, people pinch the edges, the frame tips forward, and every photo has a thumb across the hashtag.
The Hashtag Has to Survive a Crop
Phone photos get cropped square. Put the handle or hashtag on the bottom border and repeat it at the top, because one or the other will be cut off in roughly half of the pictures taken.
It Leans Against a Wall Between Shots
Frames spend most of an event propped somewhere. Rounded corners and a sealed edge stop the board bruising, which is what makes a frame still look new at the fourth event.
Cut and Finished Here
We cut, laminate and seal the edges in house, then check the frame for flex at full width before it ships.
Being realistic about the format: a frame works at a queue, a step and repeat or a finish line where somebody is directing people. Left leaning against a wall with nobody prompting, it mostly gets ignored, and a backdrop would serve you better.

- 02Match resolution to distanceSomething read from a few metres away needs far less resolution than a business card. Around 100 dpi at full size is usually plenty.
- 03Tell us how it will be fixedHems, eyelets, pole pockets and frames take up material around the edge. Tell us the fixing and prepress allows for it.

Quick answers.
Sized to the group. Two people, or eight, changes everything.
Not on five millimetre Forex, which stays liftable at size.
Top and bottom. Crops remove one of them.
