The Stick Decides the Cost
Plastic sticks are cheapest and most common. Wooden dowels feel better and cost more. At quantities of a thousand or more this single choice moves the total noticeably.
Size Is Deliberately Small
Around twenty by thirty centimetres is typical. Large enough to read, small enough that a child can hold one and a volunteer can carry two hundred in a box.
They Are Assembled, Not Sewn
The flag is attached to the stick in production, usually stapled or glued into a folded edge. These are not hemmed all round, because at this price and this life span it would be wasted work.
Packing Is Part of the Brief
Boxed in hundreds and labelled, so a gate team can grab a box per position. Loose flags in one large carton slow distribution down more than anything else.
Nobody Brings Them Back
Treat the whole order as consumed. Order above headcount, because people take spares and children take several.
Printed Both Sides When Needed
Dye sublimation shows through for a simple design. For a two sided read, we produce them as a sewn double layer, which moves them into a different price bracket. Agree the distribution plan before the quantity. Knowing how many gates there are and who is standing at each of them changes how we box the order more than the total number does. Decide whether they are single or double sided before quoting, because it changes the product entirely. A show through single layer flag is a fraction of the cost, and for a national flag handed out at a gate it is entirely adequate.
The honest point is quality expectation. A hand flag is built to be waved for an hour and then put in a bag. If somebody is going to keep it, a stitched flag on a dowel is the version to ask for, and it costs several times as much.
