Pointing Flags in Dubai: Getting a Car Into the Right Entrance
A pointing flag has one message and it is a direction. Pointing flags in Dubai line the approach to site offices, show villas, parking areas and event entrances, where the problem is not awareness but a driver reaching a junction and not knowing which way to turn.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
The Arrow Is the Whole Design
A large arrow, a short word and nothing else. At approach speed a driver has a couple of seconds, and anything beyond those two elements is not read.
They Work in Sequence
One flag confirms nothing. A run of them at each decision point builds confidence, and the last one sits at the turn itself, not before it.
Direction Has to Match the Side
A left pointing flag on the right of the road reads oddly and causes hesitation. We plan which side each flag stands on as part of the layout, not on the day.
Height Clears Parked Cars
At a busy site, anything under two and a half metres is hidden behind a parked vehicle at exactly the wrong moment. These are usually run taller than other event flags.
Bases Must Not Enter the Road
Flags sit off the carriageway on a flat or weighted base, with nothing protruding into traffic. Where the verge is soft, spikes are used instead of surface weights.
Reused Every Weekend
Show villas and sales events run the same route repeatedly, so these are built to go up and down weekly for a season. Photograph the route once the flags are up and keep the pictures. Setting out the same event next season becomes a matter of matching photographs instead of starting again. Keep the artwork plain and reusable. An arrow and a single word works for every event you run, whereas a flag carrying a date or a specific offer becomes waste the moment that campaign ends.
We will say this plainly: flags on or beside a public road may need permission, and some roads do not permit them at all. On private land it is straightforward. On a public approach, check before ordering a run of twenty.

- 03Tell us how it will be fixedHems, eyelets, pole pockets and frames take up material around the edge. Tell us the fixing and prepress allows for it.
- 04Send logos as vectorsAI, EPS, SVG or PDF keeps edges sharp at large sizes. Embed or outline the fonts.
