Boat Flags in Dubai: Salt, Sun and Constant Movement
A flag on a boat lives in the harshest conditions of anything we make. Salt spray, unfiltered sun off the water and wind that never stops because the vessel is making its own. Boat flags in Dubai are specified for that combination, which is why a standard event flag fails within weeks at sea.

Six steps happen between the brief and the finished job. Here they are, in the order they happen on our floor in Dubai South.
Salt Attacks the Fittings First
The fabric usually outlasts the hardware. Stainless or marine grade fittings are specified throughout, because ordinary clips corrode and seize within a season on the water.
Stitching Beats Welding Here
Marine flags are sewn with marine grade thread. Heat welded seams in constant flexing and salt exposure open up sooner, so these are stitched throughout and the fly edge is quadruple stitched.
UV Is Doubled by Reflection
Sun comes from above and bounces off the water, so a flag at sea takes far more UV than one on land. Dye sublimation holds colour well, and even so marine flags fade faster than shore flags.
Sizes Follow Convention
Courtesy flags, ensigns and club burgees have expected sizes and positions aboard. We make to the convention you tell us, and we will ask instead of assuming.
It Will Need Replacing
Everyone who runs flags at sea replaces them regularly. Buying slightly better and expecting to replace annually is a more honest plan than hoping one lasts for years.
Made to Order
Club burgees, owner flags and charter branding are all produced as one offs or small runs, with the design held for repeat orders. Order two of anything that flies permanently. Rotating a pair, with one drying ashore while the other is up, gets considerably more life from the same spend. Size follows the vessel and not preference. An oversized ensign looks wrong and fouls rigging, and an undersized one reads as neglect. Tell us the length of the boat and the position aboard and we will size it.
The straightforward warning: a flag flown continuously under way will not last a season whatever it is made of. Vessels that take flags down in port get several times the life from the same flag.
